Now, I have been hearing a lot lately about how the Xbox 360 is SO much better than the Playstation 3. I strongly disagree, but again, my opinion, calm down, take a deep breath before you comment, please. *WARNING WALL OF TEXT!*
Again, let's kick this off with cost.
Xbox 360 cost: $299
Internet and other fees: $50
Total cost: $ 349
Playstation 3 cost= $399
Internet and other fees=$0
Total cost=$399
Well, I am going to have to tie this one.. The internet and other fees for Xbox 360 is only for 1 year of Xbox Live.. So if you want another year.. 50 more bucks.

Now let's go to gameplay
The Xbox 360 gameplay is targeted for both kids and adults. I like it.. Everybody else seems to like it.
Now, the PS3 is designed for adults and teens and that's good. But when you have a little sister who always wants the television because she is scared by the games your playing.. Well, let's just say it gets a little annoying.

Now here's one I was debating on doing... Graphics
The Xbox 360 graphics are pretty advanced.. but I find they are in the "block" stage and are very bright. The edges on characters, buildings and many other things are not smooth like they are supposed to be and it really, really annoys me. The brightness is good sometimes.. at games like GTA 4.. But it is a little TO bright.
As I said in the Wii vs PS3... The PS3 graphics are superior to any others. Smooth edges and a nice dark tinge to all games.. What's not to love?

Here is where the arguments start flooding in.. Games.
The Xbox 360 games have some great titles out there like Halo 3, (not really) Left 4 Dead, and Gears of War 2. The Xbox has a lot more titles than the PS3 released.. But I would expect that for being out 18 months longer. Again I go back to the HD.. You have to pay 15 bucks more and it only holds 15 gigs.
Now.. The Playstation 3 also has some great titles like the Resistance series (Big fan), Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, and Killzone 2 just to name a few. I'll go back to Blu-Ray also.. No extra cost and holds 25 more gigs than the Xbox 360 disks.. That's a lot..

Now let's get onto features
There is no need to do this.. They have like.. The exact same features. Maybe one difference here will make up another difference there... Tie!

Controllers
The Xbox 360 controllers are great. They fit in your hands great and are very comfortable.
The Playstation 3's controllers are quite humiliating. Using the same design from Playstation 1!? Give me a break Sony!

Networking
Well, the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have the exact same networks basically, except you have to pay for Xbox Live. WIN FOR PS3!

Other Tidbits
Now.. The Xbox 360 has some crap you need to buy if you get certain versions or have wireless internet. If you get an Arcade Version of the Xbox 360 you have to buy a hardrive, and that's about $50-$75. If you want wireless internet you have to buy an adapter and your looking at $75-$100. That's RIDICULOUS! Get a PS3.
Playstation 3 have no hidden costs.. Except costing you your day playing this amazing system.

I think in terms of quality, the playstation 3 is wayyy
ReplyDeletebetter. I was over at my friends house and we were playing Halo 3 on his Xbox 360 and we were playing for about 45
minutes and the Xbox froze. So we took the disc out but we couldn't because the disc melted everywhere in his Xbox. So when you buy a 360 , you also have to buy the extra intercooler so that your disc wont melt.
Your second point is okay but the recent Xbox games haven't been very child minded either so that one should probably be tied.
ReplyDeleteThe Ps1 controllers came out first and are original you should actually thank sony for not using the "boomerang" controllers that were an epic fail. If you didn't notice the Xbox controllers are the exact same but the D-pad and the left analog are put in different spots and because of the Playstation coming out first the Xbox should be blamed for not having an original design. Another point I have to make is the playstation controllers expanded on the design of the controllers before it so they can't really get points for originallity either but they were more advanced.
The networking part doesn't even count because you used the exact same point in the first (for lack of a better word) contest.
Your last point is only IF you by the arcade version so you don't really have an argument their either. Just don't buy the arcade version. The PS3 has versions that also cost more so really it depends on what type you buy for both systems. You should really show the prices of them to show an actual winner.
Ben... Now even if that one was a tie PS3 would STILL win. But anyways.. Why doesn't the networking count? YOU even said the networks were exactly the same except you don't have to pay for it. That's a definite win for PS3. And for the Arcade version..It is not the only point I have on there and if you don't buy the Arcade version than you will probably get an Elite. Those are 599$.

ReplyDeleteUmm, yeah. I was going to say I liked both the Xbox 360 and the Ps3, adn that they shouldn't be matched up, but be fused together to become the UBER CONSOLE. However, you posted a stupid comment, so I'm going to end mine like this.
ReplyDeleteWell, Kane if you were judging.. you would Make the Xbox 360 win. It's really just what you prefer.. You prefer Xbox 360 so you would go for the 360.. I like PS3 so y'know.. But I do think I judged this somewhat fairly. I mean.. Maybe as Ben pointed out I compared the same thing twice.. But still.
ReplyDeleteKane I agree with the unfair judging Alex was completely byast the whole time he used any excuse to make the PS3 win. Alex buying the elite is completely optional so why do you think that it would be everyone's choice.
